Hon Barr SUNDAY MARSHALL KATUNG
Barrister Sunday is a man whose objective is to always excel in every situation, irrespective of the odds. He is someone who is desirous of using his knowledge, skills, intellect, experience and social goodwill to create value for the benefit of mankind.
Barrister Sunday was born on 1st April 1961, married and from Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna state.
He attended Kufena College, Wusasa, Zaria from 1975 to 1980, then the College of Arts & Science (CAS), Zaria before proceeding to the University of Lagos, Akoka to read law. From 1986 to 1987 he was at the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos. He went to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for a Post-Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM) in 2000, then a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in 2005, and another Master’s in International Law and Diplomacy in 2014.
From January 1989 to June 2007 he was at the Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation as the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser.
He was appointed Commissioner of Finance, Kaduna State from July 2010 to May 2011, then from July 2011 to May 31st, he was appointed Commissioner of Water Resources, and then back to the ministry of finance from May 31st to 11th September 2013 as the Commissioner of Finance.
From June 3rd 2015 to 2019 he was at the House of Representatives, representing Zango Kataf/Jaba federal constituency. He won his primary for another stint at the House of Representatives but relinquished it when he was called upon to be a running mate to the PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Kaduna state, in the 2019 election.
