*THANK YOU, JEMA’A/SANGA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY*

I’m sincerely grateful to the good people of Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency for the rare opportunity to represent our constituency in the 10th Assembly.

I’m particularly grateful to all those who believed in our vision of building a new constituency and worked towards this victory. We will work with you and well-meaning members of our constituency to consolidate on the gains recorded by Hon. Nicolas Garba Sarkin-noma in the last 12 years, partner with relevant stakeholders to improve security and focus on legislation that will build the capacity of our women and youths and also empower them.

As your representative, I want to assure you that we’ll be fair, just and equitable to all, whether or not you supported and voted for us. I invite you all to join us on this voyage of making our constituency better.

To my opponents in the election, I would say, there’s no winner, no vanquished. I’m offering to work with you to move our constituency forward.

Let me also use this opportunity to mourn the sudden death of our beloved brother, Hon. John Bezard, which occurred on Saturday, 25th February, 2023, during the collation of results. My sincere condolences to his wife and immediate family, the good people of Sanga and Jema’a LGAs, and the entire PDP family in the state. Hon. Bezard will be greatly missed, but the vision we shared for a more secure and prosperous constituency will live on. This I assure you.

Finally, let’s forget our differences in the last election and work together irrespective of party affiliation or creed to vote en masse for the PDP come 11th of March, 2023, in the governorship and state houses of assembly elections.

Thank you, everyone, and God bless!

Group call southern kaduna indigenes to answer sokapu’s call as they endosed Atiku: first page daily Reporters.

SOUTHERN KADUNA ARISE: SOKAPU and the Southern Kaduna Leadership Council have Spoken
Yesterday, SOKAPU and the Southern Kaduna Leadership Council rejected the APC and directed our people to vote for the party that has been good to our people over the last 25 years.
The two groups said in emphatic terms that “politically and economically, the Southern Kaduna people have benefited more from the PDP than any other party in the history of Nigeria.”
They also advised our people to vote for a party that is on ground in terms of structures, spread, capacity of the party and candidates to win the presidential election, hold and use the power to include the Southern Kaduna people in government, and the Party that has the inclination, desire, and the potential to concretely address our cares and concerns.”
The PDP in this regard is the right party to vote because the Labour Party has done NOTHING FOR US YET, and also lacks the structure and capacity to win tomorrow’s election.
VOTE RIGHT, VOTE THE PDP FOR A SECURE AND MORE PROSPEROUS SK!

Southern kaduna as history beckons: Ali Waziri

SOUTHERN KADUNA AS HISTORY BECKONS 2023. Over the years since the first Republic we have been searching for relevance in politics. First, it was regional grouping and we went with the United Middle belt of J S Tarka. In the second Republic we were divided, some went NPP with Nnamdi Azikiwe of the Igbos others went UPN with Chief Obafemi Awolowo of the Yoruba. In this, we found psychological satisfaction because we tried to identify with those who valued us. This has been so because of the no love lost between us and our northern neighbours. Because of ethnicity, social and our religious background we found no common grounds to work together in politics. There has been no attempt to discuss our political situation at any reasonable level in the north. To shorten the narrative. In the 1990s the IBB military regime decreed 2 political party, Social Democratic party ( SDP) and National Republican Congress (NRC). This was the first time Southern Kaduna went into a national party and as was expected realignment of forces still threw us South to work with Southern candidate Chief MKO Abiola. Our decision to join SDP was spontaneous not planned. Infact, it was basically because the core north were in the other party and as usual we felt we would not get a fair deal there. By 1998 Southern Kaduna had found it bearings in politics. We joined the G18 at the national level to demand for the return to Democracy , a movement that gave birth to the People’s Democratic party (PDP) . The short of the story is that our son’s, Engr. Stephen Shekari, Dauda Tsoho, Col. Yohanna Madaki, Isaiah Balat, Garba Ali Madaki in alliance with notably Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi and few others in the north brought PDP to Kaduna state. PDP THEREFORE,IS A SOUTHERN KADUNA PROJECT!! Fortunately, the people of Southern Kaduna have received the PDP faithfully and as second in importance to their religion. Moreover, the PDP has not disappointed the Southern Kaduna people. The benefits are many. First, it is a national party. We are at home with our traditional friends in politics from the south and we have found forces within mainstream northern politics to work with. Physically, we experienced the greatest political uplift ever known. Road infrastructure, electric power, water supply and expansion in education. We have received a kind self-determination through the creation of chiefdoms. We experienced inclusiveness in governance for the first time. We had an elected governor, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, we had Ministers, Works and Housing, Finance, Solid Minerals, Aviation and Environment. In the nation’s only blue chip company NNPC , our son was made Group Managing Director. We had service chiefs in the military. Chief of defense Staff, chief of naval staff and Chief of army Staff. We shared party positions in the state and national levels at equity. We shared political appointments in the state at near parity. For this many benefits PDP has become entrenched in Southern Kaduna and this is not sophistry. PDP, the Southern Kaduna party has been in the opposition since 2015 but our people never weavered. We have withstood the worst of blackmail, we have been afflicted with death and destruction but we kept hope alive through the PDP and so today upon all ought we have senator PDP, House of Reps PDP, Houses of Assembly, PDP, Chairmen and Councilors PDP. Southern Kaduna mainstream elites are still intact in the PDP. Our yomen and our rich have found comfort and a home in the PDP. To alter the status quo requires a very clear and surer alternative, till date there is NONE. If Southern Kaduna makes a declaration to vote for Atiku Abubakar of their party, PDP, then they are in tandem with reality, anything to the contrary is flowing against the tide . By every indices, Atiku Abubakar shall win on 25 February 2023 and we cannot dare to forsake our own Victory. Olusegun Obasanjo, Umoru Musa Yaradua, Good luck Ebele Jonathan kept the PDP principle of inclusiveness, Atiku Abubakar cannot do otherwise, it is our ESSENCE as a party. SOKAPU BE GUIDED!! Need for Sokapu to stick to issues: Bomba Dauda.

NEED FOR SOKAPU TO STICK TO THE ISSUES
We have read with mixed feelings the response of Mr. Luka Binniyat, the P.R.O of SOKAPU, to our investigative report on the 200M Wike donation to IDPs in Kaduna State. It is quite disheartening and disturbing that Binniyat, a journalist, too, by profession, would deliberately shelve the critical issues we raised and dwell on frivolities that were neither the focus of our report nor captured anywhere in it.
Sir Luka Binniyat, the word “investigation” is not a big deal. You underrated our common sense. You expected that for us to undertake an investigation of this magnitude, we require intelligence that is at par with yours.
This investigative work does not require a sophisticated brain like yours to quiz facts from information hoarders. Common sense like ours was what we required to ask questions, transcribe, and write the report. Your intelligence is too big for small jobs like this, sir.
The difficult things in most journalism investigations are access to materials and information, but, in our case, people were willing to speak to us because they lost confidence in SOKAPU’s handling of the Wike donation.
When we saw the petition by the Chikun and Kajuru LG branches of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) against SOKAPU, we did not require a sophisticated brain like Binniyat’s to know that our first port of call was the PDP Chairman, Hassan Hyat. After our interview with him, he issued us a document (produced by a committee set up to fashion out how to share the funds), which we now referred to it as a template to validate his arguments and back his facts.
We did not also need Binniyat’s super-rich brain to know that the document has become our guide and the most important lead to unearthing what is hidden.
We did not also need Binniyat’s type of personality for persons of interest or prime actors as contained in the template to avail themselves as sources of information. Neither did we need Binniyat’s kind of guts to go to the hinterland and troubled zones. What we required, overall, were remotely sourced.
However, the northern part of Kaduna and JNI did not use Binniyat’s kind of intelligence to follow the procedures as dictated by the PDP template, they used common sense like ours (Concerned Journalists) and disbursed the funds and created a peaceful atmosphere around their IDPs, and even wrote and presented reports on the exercise to the PDP.
SOKAPU is too intelligent and probably used Binniyat’s kind of intelligence to go against the template and derived its formula, and lost the calm atmosphere around our IDPs.
Look at how Binniyat botched: he is SOKAPU’s P.R.O and a parody spokesman of the Labour Party, LP. Imagine how he has turned SOKAPU into an appendage appellation of LP. It is very evident that SOKAPU and LP are siamese in the polity. It was openly displayed in his response to our report.
But sir, our common sense tells us that you glossed over or circumvented the central issues in our report:
Why did SOKAPU decline to use the template given to it?
The template did not give SOKAPU the power to make an alternative decision in case of a paucity of funds. The decision to buy relief materials is contrary to the template given to SOKAPU or the demands made by the IDPs themselves.
SOKAPU should have reverted to Hassan Hyat or the committee for any option in case of any uncertainty.
Why did SOKAPU sideline Community Development Associations, LG Chairmen, CAN, and other actors as designated in the template and took unilateral action?
The template is not flexible. It is very rigid and explicit on sharing funds to affected LGAs and not purchasing and sharing relief materials.
SOKAPU did not make mention the reasons why Asake did not return to Hyat after putting several calls to him to find out why SOKAPU did not disburse the funds to the IDPs immediately
Your rejoinder did not explain why the continuous hoarding of the depleted funds up to this day.
In your rejoinder, you did not state why Asake did not hand over the documents of purchase of the relief materials that were distributed to the Dio Maisamari leadership.
You also did not fault any of the accounts of the IDP Coordinators, which provided the basis for our conclusion that what you distributed to the IDPs is nothing near commensurate to the about 60 million Mr. Asake claimed to have spent on the purchase of the relief materials.
You did not also refute the claim that Mr. Dio Maisamari was suspended and later recalled or informed the reader why SOKAPU decided to keep money meant for meeting the emergency needs of IDPs for almost a year now? Isn’t it clear that why Asake has been indicted or CAN “arm-twisted,” (as you claim) Mr. Dio Maisamari to get 18 million or Mr. Dio himself suspended allegedly over the mismanagement of the same funds is the failure of Asake, ab initio to disburse the funds as stipulated in the template given to him or involve relevant stakeholders in the disbursement of the funds?
It is instructive to also let you know that the idea to investigate SOKAPU’s handling of the Wike funds was conceived while Asake was still president of the Union, and kick-started before he even publicly declare interest to run for the governorship of the state under the LP. Mr. Maisamari, the current president of SOKAPU can confirm that we interviewed him on this matter over five (5) months ago and told him we were on an investigative work. We did so after Mr. Asake declined speaking with us, and directed we meet Dio, whom he handed over every detail we will want from him.
On our part, it is for the people, the IDPs, and posterity to judge. We couldn’t have missed the opportunity to unearth the facts about misappropriation of funds meant for the most vulnerable among us for the fear being misconstrued as “working for politicians or political parties.” This report will outlive the 2023 elections, and its findings would remain a pathway to the discovery of more truths about how SOKAPU under Asake handled the Wike funds.
